Introducing our friends, the mighty Uncle Magazine

Posted on Monday, February 23rd, 2009 by lee

A tasty treat was delivered to us today. I received a shiny, new copy of issue two of Uncle Magazine. If you missed out on their inaugural issue, Uncle is a funny, well-written piece of literature for NY and beyond.

This issue covers topics that others would be scared to touch with a 10-foot-pole. Parisian Metro Sexual Assaults, Letters to Landlords and Cockfighting are just three of the untouchables that Uncle is more than willing to touch. Check out the PDF here.

Also, in coordination with the drop of the new issue is the brand new uncleempire.com. With a brand new design and a constant flow of enlightening content and funny commentary, Uncle is bringing paper-like and digitally, right to your face.

The Cut & Sewn crew welcomes the boys of Uncle as friends, pals and confidants.

John Mason is a friend of Cut & Sewn. And a very fashionable guy. Those two things combined to provide a dynamite t-shirt.

His explanation for the below shirt.

I rarely try to explain my own absurdity. If it doesn’t make sense to you why the hell do you think it would make sense to me. It just seemed like the only number that I’d deem appropriate if I could choose. Not to mention its a number I would prank call often.

Be our guest!

Do you have something you want to say? Something to promote? Something to demote?

Here’s our idea: Write a guestpost right here on Loose Lips, the loveliest new blog on the internet, brought to you by Cut & Sewn. Or another wonderful idea just came to us. You know how much you love our Friday playlists, but sometimes are thinking about a song that you wanted to hear. Make your own playlist and be our guest DJ! Contact lee@cutandsewn.com for more details. We look forward to hearing your voice!

As seen in the wild – children of Karaoke

Posted on Saturday, January 17th, 2009 by lee

Cut & Sewn hoodies scream, “Ask me where I got this hoodie!” This hoodie to your left is a Cut & Sewn original as worn by me, Lee Frank. Saying “karaoke kid” it begs the question, am I really a) a karaoke kid, b) like green and yellow shirts or c) maybe I’m just one of those kids that love kitchy, ridiculous clothing items.

Maybe with those silly glasses, you think c is the right answer. However, I am a monster on the microphone a. Although, I’d probably give half a point for b (green looks nice). Self-trained using Rock Band, I’ve been known to rock crowds like you rock a full-time job. Your next question, “Well then, what song do you sing?” My song, of course, is Rapper’s Delight by the Sugar Hill Gang.

With that in mind, I am often out in the streets wearing this hoodie. Like how it looks? You, too, could be rocking one looking just like this or even better, make your own hilarious phrase. Look below at what this hoodie won me recently, yum yum.

your site is really kinda garbage

Posted on Tuesday, December 16th, 2008 by cutcrew

“your site is really kinda garbage, try a re-launch”

When we first read that comment last week, we laughed (except for Lee, who cried himself to sleep). Then we got to thinking if this person took the actual time to enter in a (probably fake) name, an (invalid) myspace, and a semi-constructive critique, there might be others out there. So we decided to make it a call to action.

In an effort to be better, we are welcoming ALL feedback regarding the site – good or bad. Listen, we will be the first ones to admit that the site is far from perfect, so if there is there something you don’t like, something we could do better, something you wish we had, whatever, just let us know. So leave a comment or send an email to feedback@cutandsewn.com.

Peace
